Spiced Autumn Ice Cream

- 2 cups whole milk
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter

In a medium saucepan, whisk together milk, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and salt over medium heat.

In a separate bowl, combine cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of cold milk, whisking until fully dissolved.

Add the cornstarch mixture to the saucepan and continue whisking until the mixture thickens and coats the back of a spoon.

Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the butter until melted and fully incorporated.

Allow the mixture to cool completely at room temperature.

Pour the cooled mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions.
