Banana Bliss

- 4 ripe bananas
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- ¼ cup cornstarch
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 4 large egg yolks
- 2 ½ cups whole milk
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 24 vanilla wafers
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
- Chocolate shavings, for garnish (optional)

In a saucepan, combine sugar, cornstarch, and salt. Mix well.
