ingredients
- 1 lb ground pork
- 1 small cabbage, shredded
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 package spring roll wrappers
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 tsp ginger, grated
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1/2 tsp sugar
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- Oil, for frying
steps
- 1.
In a large pan, heat vegetable oil and sauté garlic and ginger until fragrant.
- 2.
Add ground pork and cook until browned, breaking it up with a wooden spoon.
- 3.
Stir in shredded cabbage, soy sauce, sesame oil, sugar, and black pepper. Cook until cabbage is tender and well-cooked.
- 4.
Remove from heat and let the filling cool completely.
- 5.
Lay out a spring roll wrapper, place 2 tablespoons of the filling onto the wrapper, and roll tightly, folding the sides in as you go. Seal the end with a bit of water.
- 6.
Repeat until all the filling is used.
- 7.
Heat oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C).
- 8.
Fry the spring rolls in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes. Make sure to turn them occasionally for even cooking.
- 9.
Remove from oil and place the spring rolls on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
- 10.
Serve hot with dipping sauces like sweet chili, soy sauce, or plum sauce.
