ingredients
- 6 lbs Maris Otter malt
- 1 lb chocolate malt
- 0.5 lb Crystal 40L malt
- 1 packet English Ale yeast
- 1 oz East Kent Goldings hops
- 8 oz cocoa nibs
- 1 lb lactose sugar
steps
- 1.
Heat 3 gallons of water to 160°F
- 2.
Steep grains for 30 minutes
- 3.
Bring to a boil and add hops
- 4.
Boil for 60 minutes
- 5.
Add cocoa nibs and lactose sugar at flameout
- 6.
Cool, transfer to fermenter, and add yeast
- 7.
Ferment for 2 weeks, then bottle
