Creamy Potato, Sausage, and Cabbage Soup

- 1 medium potato, peeled and diced
- 1/2 lb link sausage, cubed
- 1/2 lb ground meat
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 2-4 cups water
- 1 can kidney beans, drained and rinsed
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon dried basil or Italian seasoning
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 head of cabbage, shredded
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 Tbsp yogurt or sour cream
- 1 tsp Liquid Smoke

In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add cubed sausage and ground meat, cook until browned. Remove from the pot and set aside.

In the same pot, add onions and garlic. Sauté until soft and fragrant.

Add diced potato, dried basil, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well.

Pour in chicken broth and water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer for 20 minutes or until potatoes are tender.

Add the cooked sausage, ground meat, kidney beans, and shredded cabbage. Simmer for an additional 10 minutes to let the flavors meld together.
