Menomonee River Braggot

This flavorful Braggot-style mead marries the rich sweetness of Dutch Buckwheat Honey with the malty notes of CBW® Golden Light LME. ingredients
- Water: 5 gallons
- CBW® Golden Light LME: 3.3 lbs
- Dutch Gold Buckwheat Honey: 3.3 lbs
- Zythos Hops: 1 oz
- Wyeast 9209 Munich Yeast: 1 packet

- 1.
Boil 2 gallons of water in a brew pot.
- 2.
Gradually add the CBW® Golden Light LME, stirring until fully dissolved.
- 3.
Once dissolved, bring the mixture to a rolling boil.
- 4.
Add 0.5 oz of Zythos hops at the beginning of the boil for bitterness.
- 5.
After 30 minutes, add another 0.5 oz of Zythos hops for aroma and flavor.
- 6.
After a total boil time of 60 minutes, remove the pot from heat.
- 7.
In a separate pot, warm 1 cup of water and dissolve the Dutch Buckwheat Honey.
- 8.
Cool the wort quickly using an immersion chiller or an ice bath.
- 9.
Once cooled, transfer the wort to a sanitized fermentation vessel and add the honey-water mixture.
- 10.
Top off with additional water until you reach 5 gallons.
- 11.
Pitch the Wyeast 9209 Munich yeast into the mixture.
- 12.
Seal the fermentation vessel and attach an airlock.
- 13.
Ferment at around 65-70°F for 2-4 weeks until fermentation is complete.
- 14.
Once fermentation is complete, rack the mead into a sanitized secondary vessel for aging.
- 15.
Age for 1-3 months to develop flavors before bottling.
