ingredients
- 1 lb beef stew meat, diced
- 1 tbsp matcha powder
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 cup frozen peas and carrots
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp butter
- ½ tsp thyme
- ½ tsp rosemary
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 package pre-made pie crust
steps
- 1.
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- 2.
In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add onions and garlic, sauté until fragrant.
- 3.
In a bowl, combine matcha powder, flour, thyme, rosemary, salt, and pepper. Coat the beef in this mixture.
- 4.
Add the beef to the skillet and brown on all sides. Pour in beef broth and bring to a simmer, cooking until the beef is tender.
- 5.
Stir in the frozen peas and carrots, cooking for an additional 2 minutes.
- 6.
Line a pie dish with a pre-made pie crust, trimming and pressing the edges to fit.
- 7.
Pour the beef mixture into the pie dish, spreading it evenly.
- 8.
Cover the pie with the remaining pie crust, sealing the edges. Cut a few slits on top to allow steam to escape.
- 9.
Place the pot pie on a baking sheet and bake for 45-50 minutes, until the crust is golden brown.
- 10.
Remove from the oven, let it cool for a few minutes, then serve the matcha beef pot pie warm.
