Orange Madeleines with Dark Chocolate

Light, fluffy madeleines bursting with bright citrus flavor, dipped in smooth, rich dark chocolate. Perfect for a fancy breakfast or elegant dessert.

- ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs, at room temperature
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- ¼ tsp salt
- Zest of 1 large orange
- 2 tbsp fresh orange juice
- 4 oz dark chocolate, chopped

Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a madeleine pan.

In a large bowl, whisk together melted butter, eggs and sugar until pale and creamy.

In another bowl, sift together flour, baking powder and salt. Add orange zest and whisk.

Add dry ingredients to wet ingredients and gently fold together until just combined. Add fresh orange juice and fold again.

Fill each madeleine mold ¾ full with batter. Bake for 10-12 minutes until golden brown.

Allow to cool for a few minutes in the pan, remove and cool completely on a wire rack.
- 7.
Melt chocolate in a small bowl over simmering water. Dip one end of each madeleine into chocolate and let set on a baking sheet.
