ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef, 80% lean
- 4 pretzel buns
- 4 slices of cheddar cheese
- 1 large onion, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika
- 1 bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon (750ml)
steps
- 1.
In a large bowl, mix together ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika until well combined. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into patties.
- 2.
Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the beef patties for about 4-5 minutes per side or until desired doneness. Just before removing from heat, top each patty with a slice of cheddar cheese and let it melt slightly.
- 3.
While the patties are cooking, heat vegetable oil in a separate skillet over medium heat. Add the thinly sliced onions and cook until golden brown and caramelized, stirring occasionally for about 15 minutes.
- 4.
Assemble the burgers by placing each patty on a pretzel bun and topping with caramelized onions. Serve hot, ideally with a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon to complement the flavors.
