- Spring water: 1 gallon
- Honey: 3 lbs
- Pure maple syrup: 12.5 oz
- White wine or champagne yeast: 1 package
- Orange: 1 (for zest) - optional
- Cinnamon stick: 1 - optional
- Whole cloves: 2 - optional

steps

Sanitize all equipment thoroughly.
- 2.
Heat 1/2 gallon of water to 110°F.
- 3.
Dissolve honey and maple syrup in warm water.
- 4.
Transfer mixture to the fermentation vessel.

Add the remaining water and check the temperature (70-80°F).
- 6.
Add optional ingredients like orange zest, cinnamon stick, cloves, or tea.
- 7.
Sprinkle yeast on top without stirring.
- 8.
Seal the vessel with an airlock.
- 9.
Ferment for 4-6 weeks at room temperature.
- 10.
Siphon the mead from the sediment.
- 11.
Age for 3-6 months to enhance flavor.
