ingredients
- 1 lb ground pork
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 4 brioche hamburger buns
- 4 slices maple bacon
- 1 cup apple chutney
- 4 slices cheddar cheese (optional)
- Fresh arugula (for garnish)
steps
- 1.
Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat.
- 2.
In a large bowl, combine ground pork, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
- 3.
Form the mixture into 4 equal-sized patties. Make a small indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing during cooking.
- 4.
Cook the patties on the grill or skillet for about 5-6 minutes per side, until the internal temperature reaches 160°F. Add cheese slices during the last minute if desired.
- 5.
While the patties are cooking, in a separate skillet, cook the maple bacon until crispy. Drain on paper towels.
- 6.
Toast the brioche buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.
- 7.
Assemble the burgers by placing a pork patty on the bottom half of each bun, followed by a slice of bacon, a generous spoonful of apple chutney, and a handful of fresh arugula.
- 8.
Top with the other half of the bun and serve immediately.
