- 1 cup red lentils

- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 2 tablespoons light soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Fresh herbs (optional, such as basil and thyme)
