Citrus Cascade Brewing Bliss

- 8 lbs Pilsner malt
- 1 lb Carapils malt
- 0.5 lb Munich malt
- 1 oz Cascade hops (60 min)
- 0.5 oz Cascade hops (15 min)
- 0.5 oz Cascade hops (5 min)
- 1 Whirlfloc tablet (optional, for clarity)
- 1 packet American Lager yeast
- 5 oz corn sugar (for priming)
- 5 gallons water (filtered)

Heat 3 gallons of water to 160°F and add the crushed grains in a grain bag.

Mash for 60 minutes at a steady temperature of 150°F, then remove the grain bag and sparge with an additional 3 gallons of hot water.

Bring the collected wort to a boil, then add 1 oz of Cascade hops and boil for 60 minutes.

After 45 minutes, add 0.5 oz of Cascade hops.
- 5.
At 55 minutes, add the Whirlfloc tablet, if using. At the end of the boil, add 0.5 oz of Cascade hops.

Cool the wort quickly to around 70°F using an immersion chiller.

Transfer to a sanitized fermenter and pitch the American Lager yeast.

Allow fermentation to take place for about 2 weeks at a stable temperature of 60-65°F.

After fermentation, mix corn sugar with 2 cups of water to create a priming solution and add it to the bottling bucket.
- 10.
Bottle the lager, cap, and let it carbonate for 2 weeks in a dark, cool location.
