Creamy Bacon Mac and Cheese
ingredients
- 8 oz elbow macaroni
- 6 slices bacon
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 cups whole milk
- 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded Gruyere cheese
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- Salt and black pepper to taste

Cook the macaroni according to package instructions, drain, and set aside.

In a large skillet, cook the bacon until crispy. Remove from the skillet, crumble, and set aside.

In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for 2 minutes.

Gradually whisk in the milk until smooth and creamy. Simmer for 3-4 minutes, stirring frequently.
- 5.
Reduce the heat to low. Add the cheddar and Gruyere cheeses, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Stir until melted and smooth.
- 6.
Remove from heat and fold in the cooked macaroni until well coated.
- 7.
Serve the mac and cheese in bowls, topping each portion with the crumbled bacon.
