Creamy Beef Lasagna

- 9 lasagna noodles
- 1 onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 1 can (6 oz) tomato paste
- 2 cups whole milk ricotta cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add onion and garlic, sauté until translucent.

Add ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.

Spread a thin layer of the meat sauce on the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish.

Place three lasagna noodles on top of the sauce, slightly overlapping.

Sprinkle one cup of shredded mozzarella cheese on top.

Repeat the layers with three more noodles, remaining ricotta mixture, meat sauce, and one more cup of mozzarella cheese.

Finish with a final layer of three lasagna noodles and sprinkle the remaining mozzarella cheese.

Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Then remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, until the cheese is golden and bubbly.
