Cozy Garlic Scallion Chicken Bake

- 1 boneless, skinless chicken breast
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 2 scallions, sliced (both white and green parts)
- ¼ cup milk
- ¼ cup sour cream
- ½ tablespoon olive oil
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- ¼ teaspoon dried thyme
- ¼ cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

In a small skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.

Place the chicken breast in the skillet, seasoning it with salt, pepper, and thyme. Cook until browned on both sides, approximately 5 minutes per side.

In a bowl, mix the milk and sour cream until well blended. Stir in the sliced scallions, saving a few for garnish.

Pour the sour cream mixture over the chicken in the skillet, making sure it’s well coated.

Sprinkle shredded cheese on top.

Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through.
