- 1 tsp dried basil
- ½ tsp dried oregano
- ½ tsp red pepper flakes
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 6 oz linguine pasta
- Fresh basil leaves, for garnish
steps
- 1.
Cook the linguine pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage until browned and cooked through. Remove from the skillet, let it cool slightly, then slice into bite-sized pieces.

In the same skillet, sauté the garlic and onion until translucent and fragrant, about 2-3 minutes.
- 4.
Add the tomato sauce, dried basil, oregano, and red pepper flakes to the skillet. Stir well to combine and bring to a simmer.
- 5.
Reduce the heat to low and stir in the heavy cream. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Allow the sauce to gently simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- 6.
Return the sliced sausage to the skillet and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to heat through.
- 7.
Divide the cooked linguine into serving bowls and top with the creamy tomato sauce and sausage. Garnish with fresh basil leaves.
