Floral Nut Baklava Bites

- 1 package (16 oz) phyllo dough, thawed
- 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup walnuts, finely chopped
- 1 cup almonds, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup rosewater
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

In a bowl, combine chopped walnuts, almonds, and cinnamon; mix well.

Layer a sheet of phyllo dough in a greased 9x13 inch baking dish and brush lightly with melted butter. Repeat for 8 sheets.

Sprinkle a layer of the nut mixture over the phyllo.

Continue layering phyllo sheets (about 6 per layer), followed by more nut mixture until all nuts are used.

Top with 8 more layers of buttered phyllo, brushing each layer as before.

Cut the layered baklava into squares or diamond shapes using a sharp knife.

Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown and crisp.

While baking, make the syrup: in a saucepan, combine sugar, water, rosewater, and lemon juice; bring to a boil and simmer for 10 minutes.

Once baklava is done baking, pour hot syrup evenly over the warm baklava and allow it to soak in for at least 3 hours before serving.
