ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef (halal)
- 2 cups cooked jasmine rice
- 1/2 cup diced carrots
- 1/2 cup peas
- 2 green onions, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil (for cooking)
- 4 burger buns
- Lettuce leaves (for garnish)
- Sriracha or your favorite sauce (optional)
steps
- 1.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked jasmine rice, diced carrots, peas, green onions, garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, beaten egg, and ginger. Mix well until all ingredients are fully incorporated.
- 2.
Form the fried rice mixture into four large patties, about 1 inch thick.
- 3.
Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat. Carefully place the rice patties in the skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.
- 4.
In a separate pan, cook the halal beef patties over medium heat for about 4 minutes per side, or until reaching your desired doneness.
- 5.
Toast the burger buns until golden brown.
- 6.
Assemble each burger by placing a beef patty on the bottom bun, topping it with a fried rice patty, a lettuce leaf, and a drizzle of Sriracha or your favorite sauce, if desired.
- 7.
Place the top bun in place and serve immediately.
