Experience the authentic flavors of Hyderabad with this aromatic and spicy biryani dish. Fragrant Basmati rice cooked with tender meat, fragrant spices, and caramelized onions makes this a showstopper dish every time.
ingredients
- 2 cups Basmati rice
- 1 lb chicken/beef, cubed
- 2 onions, thinly sliced
- 1 cup yogurt
- 2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 4 green chilies, slit
- 1 tsp turmeric
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1 tbsp biryani masala
- ½ cup mint leaves
- ½ cup cilantro
- 4 cups water
- Ghee
- Salt to taste

Marinate meat with yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, turmeric, red chili powder, and biryani masala for an hour.

In a large pot, heat ghee, fry onions until golden brown, then add marinated meat with mint and cilantro.

Layer half par-cooked rice over the meat, add remaining rice, sprinkle saffron milk, seal and cook on low heat for 30 mins.

Serve hot with raita.
