Create a bold porter with chocolate undertones and citrus hints.
ingredients
- 6 lbs Briess CBW® Pale Ale Dry Malt Extract (DME)
- 1 lb Briess Pale Ale Malt
- 1 lb Briess Aromatic Munich Malt
- 1 lb Malt 20L
- 1 lb Briess Dark Chocolate Malt
- 1 oz Centennial Hops
- 1 oz Cascade Hops
- 2 packs Fermentis Safale S-04 Yeast
- 5 oz Priming Sugar
steps
- 1.
Steep the malts in 2 gallons of water at 155°F for 30 minutes. Remove grains and bring to a boil.
- 2.
Add DME and Centennial hops, boil for 60 minutes.
- 3.
Add Cascade hops at flameout.
- 4.
Cool, transfer to fermenter, and pitch yeast.
- 5.
Ferment for 7-10 days, then bottle with priming sugar. Allow to carbonate for 2 weeks before enjoying.
