Authentic Italian-Style Meatballs

- 450 g ground beef
- 120 g breadcrumbs
- 30 g grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 large egg
- 15 g fresh parsley, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 5 g dried oregano
- 5 g salt
- 2.5 g black pepper
- 60 ml milk
- 680 ml marinara sauce
- Olive oil for frying

Preheat your oven to 190°C.

In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, parsley, garlic, oregano, salt, pepper, and milk. Mix until just combined.

Shape the mixture into meatballs, about 2.5 cm in diameter, using your hands.

In a skillet, heat a drizzle of olive oil over medium heat.

Add the meatballs in batches and brown on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.

Transfer the browned meatballs to a baking dish and pour the marinara sauce over them.

Cover with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until cooked through.

Serve meatballs hot over pasta or in a sub with mozzarella cheese, if desired.
