ingredients
- 4 top sirloin steaks (about 1 inch thick)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 teaspoon fresh rosemary, chopped (optional)
- Lemon wedges, for serving
steps
- 1.
Remove the top sirloin steaks from the refrigerator and let them stand at room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking.
- 2.
Preheat your grill or a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat.
- 3.
Rub each steak with olive oil, then season generously with salt and black pepper.
- 4.
Place the steaks on the grill or skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes on one side without moving them.
- 5.
Flip the steaks and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes for medium-rare, or until they reach your desired doneness.
- 6.
While the steaks are cooking, melt the butter in a small pan over low heat and add the minced garlic. Sauté until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes.
- 7.
Stir in the chopped parsley and rosemary (if using) into the garlic butter, then remove from heat.
- 8.
Once the steaks are cooked, remove them from the grill and let them rest for 5 minutes.
- 9.
Drizzle the garlic butter sauce over the steaks before serving with lemon wedges on the side.
