Flavorful Stovetop Stuffed Shells
ingredients
- 12 large sea shells
- 1 tablespoon avocado oil
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 1 cup green peppers, diced
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
- 1 tablespoon dried basil
- 2 cups basil & tomato sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Grated cheese for topping (optional)

In a large pot or deep skillet, heat avocado oil over medium heat.

Add the diced green peppers and sauté for 3-4 minutes until slightly soft.

Stir in the lean ground beef, breaking it apart with a spatula, and cook until browned, about 6-8 minutes.

Mix in the garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, dried basil, salt, and pepper; cook for another 2-3 minutes.

While the beef mixture cooks, bring a pot of salted water to a boil and prepare the large sea shells according to package instructions until al dente.

Drain the shells and let them cool slightly.

Gently stuff each shell with the beef and pepper mixture.

In the same skillet, pour in the basil and tomato sauce; arrange the stuffed shells in the sauce and let them simmer for about 10 minutes on low heat until heated through.

If desired, sprinkle grated cheese over the top during the last few minutes of cooking.

Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy!
