ingredients
- 1 lb ground turkey
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 large onion, thinly sliced
- 2 cups beef broth
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp fresh thyme (or 1/2 tsp dried)
- Fresh parsley, for garnish
steps
- 1.
In a large bowl, combine the ground turkey, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
- 2.
Form the mixture into four equal patties, about 1/2-inch thick.
- 3.
In a skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add the turkey patties and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side until browned and cooked through. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
- 4.
In the same skillet, add the sliced onion and sauté over medium-low heat until soft and caramelized, about 10 minutes.
- 5.
Sprinkle the flour over the onions and stir to combine, cooking for another minute.
- 6.
Slowly whisk in the beef broth and thyme, scraping any bits off the bottom of the skillet. Bring to a simmer until the gravy thickens, about 3-5 minutes.
- 7.
Return the turkey patties to the skillet, spooning the gravy over them. Simmer together for another 2-3 minutes.
- 8.
Serve the patties warm, garnished with fresh parsley, alongside your choice of sides.
