- 8 lbs Pilsner Malt
- 1 lb Crystal Malt (40L)
- 0.5 lb Munich Malt
- 1 oz Hallertau Hops (Bittering, 60 minutes)
- 0.5 oz Saaz Hops (Flavor, 15 minutes)
- 1 Whirlfloc Tablet (Optional, 15 minutes)
- 0.5 oz Saaz Hops (Aroma, 5 minutes)
- 1 packet Lager Yeast (such as Wyeast 2124)
- Priming Sugar (for bottling, about 3/4 cup)

In a large brew kettle, heat 3.5 gallons of water to 165°F.

Add the crushed grains to the water, maintaining a temperature of 152°F for 60 minutes for mashing.

After mashing, remove the grains and sparge with 170°F water to collect 6.5 gallons of wort.
- 4.
Bring the wort to a boil and add Hallertau hops.
- 5.
Boil for 60 minutes, adding the Saaz hops and Whirlfloc tablet as recommended.

After boiling, quickly cool the wort to 65°F using a wort chiller.
- 7.
Transfer the cooled wort to a sanitized fermenter and pitch the yeast.
- 8.
Ferment at 50-55°F for two weeks or until fermentation is complete.

After fermentation, prepare the priming sugar in a small amount of water, boil, and cool.
- 10.
Bottle the lager with the priming sugar and allow to carbonate for 2-3 weeks at room temperature.
