Spicy Gumbo Fried Rice Fusion
ingredients
- 2 cups cooked white rice (preferably chilled)
- 8 oz Andouille sausage, sliced
- 1 cup shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 bell pepper, diced (red or green)
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup okra, sliced
- 2 green onions, chopped
- 1 teaspoon Creole seasoning
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 tablespoon Cajun hot sauce (to taste)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
steps

Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

Add the Andouille sausage and cook until browned, about 5 minutes.

Stir in the onion, bell pepper, and garlic; sauté until tender, about 3 minutes.

Add the okra and cook for an additional 2 minutes.

Toss in the shrimp and cook until pink, approximately 3-4 minutes.

Add the chilled rice, breaking up any clumps; mix well with other ingredients.
- 7.
Season with Creole seasoning, soy sauce, and Cajun hot sauce. Stir to combine.
- 8.
Cook for an additional 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
- 9.
Garnish with chopped green onions, then season with salt and pepper to taste.
