ingredients
- 4 thin-cut boneless pork chops
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 4 hoagie rolls
- 1 cup pimento cheese spread
- 1 green bell pepper, sliced
- 1 yellow onion, sliced
- ½ cup sliced pickled jalapenos
- 4 slices provolone cheese
- 4 cups curly fries
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
- Oil for frying
steps
- 1.
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- 2.
In a shallow bowl, season the flour with salt and pepper. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs. Place breadcrumbs in a third bowl.
- 3.
Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- 4.
Dip each pork chop into the flour, then into the beaten eggs, and finally into the breadcrumbs, ensuring they are well coated.
- 5.
Fry the breaded pork chops for about 3 minutes per side until golden brown. Transfer to a baking sheet and finish cooking in the oven for 10-12 minutes.
- 6.
Slice the hoagie rolls lengthwise and spread each side with pimento cheese.
- 7.
In the same skillet, sauté the sliced bell pepper and onion until tender and slightly caramelized.
- 8.
Remove the pork chops from the oven and place a slice of provolone cheese on each chop. Return them to the oven for a minute or two until the cheese melts.
- 9.
Assemble the sandwiches by placing a pork chop on top of the pimento cheese, followed by the sautéed bell pepper and onion, and finally, the pickled jalapenos. Top with the other half of the hoagie roll.
- 10.
For the curly fries, preheat the oven according to the package instructions.
- 11.
In a bowl, combine chili powder, paprika, garlic powder, cumin powder, salt, and cayenne pepper. Toss the curly fries in this spice mixture until well-coated. Spread them evenly on a baking sheet and bake as directed.
- 12.
Serve the spicy wienerschnitzel cheesesteaks alongside the crispy Southwestern-spiced curly fries.
