ingredients
- 2 pounds chicken wings
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 2 tablespoons grated ginger
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 green onion, thinly sliced (for garnish)
- Sesame seeds (for garnish)
steps
- 1.
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- 2.
In a large mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, grated ginger, minced garlic, sesame oil, red pepper flakes, black pepper, and salt.
- 3.
Add the chicken wings to the marinade and toss to coat them evenly. Let marinate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 24 hours for more intense flavor.
- 4.
Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the chicken wings (reserving the marinade) and cook for 2 minutes on each side, until golden brown.
- 5.
Transfer the wings to the prepared baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until cooked through.
- 6.
Meanwhile, pour the reserved marinade into a small saucepan and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer for 5 minutes, until slightly thickened.
- 7.
Once the wings are cooked, remove them from the oven and brush them generously with the reduced marinade.
- 8.
Place the wings back in the oven for an additional 5 minutes to allow the glaze to caramelize.
- 9.
Remove from the oven and garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds.
- 10.
Serve hot and enjoy these flavorful ginger soy wings!
