ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 pint vanilla ice cream
- 2 cups strawberries, sliced
- 1/4 cup sugar

Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.

In a bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

In another bowl, mix milk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract.

Combine wet and dry ingredients until smooth. Pour into the cake pan.

Bake for 30-35 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean. Let it cool.

Cut a hole in the center of the cake and fill it with scoops of vanilla ice cream.

In a saucepan, cook strawberries and sugar until syrupy. Pour over the cake.

Slice and serve with extra strawberry compote on top.
