- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2/3 cup whole milk, lukewarm
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup crushed Oreo cookies (about 8 cookies)
- Oil for frying
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 3 tbsp heavy cream
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- Oreo cookies, crushed (for garnish)
steps
- 1.
In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, instant yeast, and salt.
- 2.
In another bowl, whisk together lukewarm milk, eggs, and melted butter.
- 3.
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until well combined.
- 4.
Fold in the crushed Oreo cookies until evenly distributed in the dough.
- 5.
Cover the bowl with a clean kitchen towel and let the dough rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until it doubles in size.
- 6.
Heat oil in a deep pot to 350°F (175°C).
- 7.
Using an ice cream scoop, carefully drop balls of dough into the hot oil, frying 3 or 4 at a time. Fry until golden brown, turning occasionally to ensure even cooking.
- 8.
Remove the oliebollen from the oil using a slotted spoon and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
- 9.
In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, heavy cream, and vanilla extract until smooth, creating the glaze.
- 10.
Dip the cooled oliebollen into the glaze, allowing any excess to drip off.
- 11.
Sprinkle crushed Oreo cookies on top of the glaze for garnish.
- 12.
Let the glaze set before serving, and enjoy these delightful cookies and cream oliebollen!
