A unique twist on a classic amber ale, with the perfect blend of corn and rye for a malty, spicy flavor profile.
ingredients
- 6 lbs Rye Malt
- 2 lbs Flaked Corn
- 1 lb Crystal 60L Malt
- 1 oz Hallertau Hops
- 1 oz Cascade Hops
- 1 packet of Ale Yeast
- 1 tsp Irish Moss
steps
- 1.
Mash rye malt, flaked corn, and crystal malt in 3 gallons of water at 150°F for 60 minutes.
- 2.
Sparge with 170°F water, bring to a boil.
- 3.
Add Hallertau hops, boil for 60 minutes.
- 4.
Add Cascade hops, Irish Moss in the last 15 minutes.
- 5.
Cool, transfer to fermenter, pitch yeast.
- 6.
Ferment 2 weeks, bottle, age 2 weeks.
