Creamy Rich Caramel Sauce
ingredients
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup heavy cream (contains 36% milk fat)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt

In a medium saucepan, combine sugar and water over medium-high heat. Stir until the sugar dissolves, then boil without stirring until it turns deep amber.

Reduce heat to low, add butter, stirring continuously until melted and well mixed.

Slowly pour in the heavy cream while stirring constantly (be cautious of splattering).

Gently simmer the mixture for an additional 2 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- 5.
Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract and salt.
- 6.
Let the caramel sauce cool for 5 minutes, then transfer to a jar or serving dish.
- 7.
Serve warm or chilled.
