- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 1/4 cup chickpea flour
- 2 tablespoons nutritional yeast
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- Oil for frying
- 1 teaspoon of Liquid Aminos
steps
- 1.
In a food processor, add chickpeas, onion, garlic, parsley, chickpea flour, nutritional yeast, lemon juice, olive oil, cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Process until well combined but still slightly chunky.
- 2.
Transfer the mixture to a bowl and let it rest for 10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
- 3.
Heat oil in a deep skillet over medium heat.
- 4.
Take small portions of the mixture and shape them into small patties.
- 5.
Carefully place the patties into the hot oil and fry each side until golden brown and crispy. Repeat until all the mixture is used, adjusting the heat as needed.
- 6.
Remove the fritters from the skillet onto a paper towel-lined plate to absorb any excess oil.
- 7.
Serve the chickpea fritters hot, optionally with a side of tahini sauce or a squeeze of lemon juice.
