ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup water
- ½ cup butter, cold and cubed
steps
- 1.
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- 2.
In a mixing bowl, combine the flour and butter. Using your fingertips or a pastry cutter, cut the cold butter into the flour until it resembles coarse crumbs.
- 3.
Slowly add water while gently mixing until the dough comes together. Be careful not to overmix.
- 4.
Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead it a few times until it becomes smooth.
- 5.
Roll the dough to a ½ inch (1.25 cm) thickness and cut out biscuits using a round cookie cutter or a drinking glass.
- 6.
Place the biscuits onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving a small space between each.
- 7.
Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the biscuits have risen and turned golden brown.
- 8.
Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving.
