Craft a crisp and refreshing golden ale with a hint of floral aroma from Saaz hops. Perfect for summer sipping on a hot day.
ingredients
- 5 lb carapils grain
- 3.3 lbs Munton's plain extra light dry malt
- 2 lbs rice solid powder
- 1 oz saaz hops for flavor
- 0.5 oz saaz hops for aroma
- Danstar Nottingham ale yeast
steps
- 1.
Heat 3 gallons of water to 150°F and steep carapils grain for 30 minutes
- 2.
Add dry malt and rice powder, bring to a boil
- 3.
Boil for 60 minutes, adding saaz flavor hops at 30 minutes
- 4.
Cool wort, transfer to fermenter, pitch yeast
- 5.
Ferment for 2 weeks, dry hop with saaz aroma hops for 3 days
- 6.
Bottle or keg and carbonate to taste
