ingredients
- 4 salmon fillets (6 oz each)
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed orange juice
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon water
- Sesame seeds and sliced green onions for garnish
steps
- 1.
In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, orange juice, garlic, and ginger to make the teriyaki sauce.
- 2.
Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish or zip-top bag, and pour half of the teriyaki sauce over them. Allow them to marinate for 15 minutes.
- 3.
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- 4.
Heat an oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Remove the salmon from the marinade, reserving the marinade. Sear the salmon fillets, skin-side down, for 2-3 minutes until the skin is crispy and browned.
- 5.
Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 8-10 minutes or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily.
- 6.
While the salmon bakes, pour the reserved marinade into a small saucepan. Bring it to a boil over medium heat.
- 7.
In a separate bowl, dissolve cornstarch in water, then add it to the boiling marinade. Stir until the sauce thickens, then remove from heat.
- 8.
Once the salmon is done, remove it from the oven and brush it generously with the thickened teriyaki sauce.
- 9.
Serve the Tangy Teriyaki Salmon fillets with steamed rice, drizzle extra sauce if desired, and sprinkle sesame seeds and green onions on top.
